How to Create a Published Course

If you want to create and launch a course for offline and self-paced learning, you can create a published course with your pre-recorded videos. You can refer to this article to learn about the prerequisites.


Create a Course for the First Time:

You can create a course by going to the Instructor Dashboard by clicking on your profile picture and then clicking on the instructor dashboard or you can directly click here if you are logged in to your account.

Click on "Create Publications" and follow the on-screen prompts.


Create Subsequent Courses:

You can click on "Add New" in the "My Publications" tile in the instructor dashboard.

Alternately, you can go to "My Publications" and then click on "Create New Course".



Whether you create your first course or a subsequent course, the steps to be followed are the same.


Steps in Creating a Published Course

There are 4 pages in which different type of information needs to be filled in. The details have been mentioned, below. The mandatory fields have been marked with *.

Page 1 - Course Summary


The following details needs to be filled in:

  • Course Headline (*) - This would be the name of the course that you are going to create.
  • Language of the Course (*) - For now, only EN is supported.
  • Description (*) - You can give some details about the course, the topics that you are going to cover, etc.
  • Level (*) - To identify the level of the course.
  • Category (*) - You can click on the box to see the categories in the system. You can manually type-in a category if you don't find any relevant category in the list. Please note that the administrator will review and may decide to create a new category or assign the course to an existing category.
  • What are you teaching in this course? - A short details of what would you teach in this course.
  • What will be your teaching method? - A short details of your teaching methods.
  • Keywords
  • Course Image (*) - Upload a clear picture to relate to your course. Please remember that this is the first image that a user is going to see of your course. A visually appealing image may attract more viewers to your course.
  • Preview Video (*) - You can upload a preview video in which you can give some details about you and your course. This video will be available to everyone for free.
  • Practice System needed? - You can mention whether you recommend practice systems or not. If yes, then you can mention what system configuration is needed.


Page 2 - Target Audience


The following optional information can be filled in:

  • Who is your target audience?
  • What is the objective of the course?
  • What are the course prerequisites?


Page 3 - Price


On this page, the price of your course needs to be entered. You have the option to provide this course for free by selecting the checkbox for "Free Course". The currency is determined based on the country in your profile address.

Based on the entered price, your share is displayed. This represents that amount that you would receive for each successful purchase of the course.


Page 4 - Course Curriculum


Here you can structure your course. A course must have Sections. A Section must have lectures. A Lecture must have a video or other supporting documents or both, based on your preference.

You can add sections / lectures,  based on your course structure, and fill up the information. If you wish, you can make a lecture free by clicking on "Demo Lecture". This will make this lecture visible to every user even without purchasing the course.

Note: You must click outside the box once you have filled in the information in that box. Otherwise, the information may not get saved.

If needed, you can re-arrange the sections / the lectures, by dragging and dropping the relevant item.


Submit for Review

Once you have filled in all the information, you can review the course details and then submit to ABCLearnings for a quick review by clicking on "Submit for Review".
